Lisa McMiller

Founder and CEO of Golden Parents Inc.

Lisa is the founder and President of Golden Parents, Incorporated. She is the fourth of seven siblings born to a single mother in Delray Beach, Florida. A difficult upbringing and her own personal experiences are the reasons why she created Golden Parents. Coming from a struggling family of seven, her mother was not able to provide the family with a solid structure. The children suffered from the lack of love and affection needed for a healthy nurturing environment. With this background, Lisa realized that she had begun to practice some of the same negative habits with her own children.

As a mother of two, Lisa saw in her own parenting the cycle of controlling behavior and a lack of empowerment repeating itself. Subconsciously, she was destroying her relationship with her own kids and pushing them away. She decided to learn from her past and break the chains. She created Golden Parents to help other families open lines of communication so they can learn from one another and strengthen the family structure.

Lisa is continuing to improve herself by fulfilling her dream of launching Golden Parents and pursuing a degree in psychology.

Ashaki Denis, MSW, RLCSW

Board Member of Golden Parents Inc.

Ashaki is a wife to her amazing husband for 9 years and a mother to many. She was raised in a single-family home as an only child with her mother that she calls her HERO. Ashaki was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Delray Beach Florida. After attending Atlantic Community High School with a 3.5 GPA, she went on to higher learning to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) and finished her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). Ashaki continued her education at FAU and earned her Master’s in Social Work in May of 2004.

Ashaki loves the field of Social Work and the many experiences she has been able to work beginning in Dependency, Foster care, Group Homes, Mental Health Awareness, In-Home Therapy, Family Therapy, Palliative Care, Adult and Aging, and Long-term Care Services.

Ashaki enjoys investing in her family and her community. Living in the All-American City of Delray Beach she has developed a lot of lasting relationships and a proud member of the Great Cathedral of Hope Ministries as their Pastor of Outreach.

Ashaki will continue to find areas to grow and helping others along the way.

Davina Suffrard, Case Management Health Professional, Baptist Health South FL, Palm Beach County

Board Member of Golden Parents Inc.

Davina is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree. She has experience within the fitness and wellness industry as well as a background in general health, supervision health management, child care, and law practice.

Her dedication to helping others and passion for making her community better are what brought her to the Golden Parents family. Whether it is volunteering or working on community development projects, Davina is always willing to provide assistance when needed. Since the moment her and CEO Lisa first discussed the vision of Golden Parents, she was dedicated to help make that vision possible no matter the circumstances.

Rosa White

Rosa White is the CEO and owner of Total Body Fitness with Rosa LLC.

Rosa is passionate about serving and working in the community. She is very active in the community and has a passion for seeing women take the lead in making sure they raise healthy families. Her passion for her family is matched by her love for bringing people to a healthier lifestyle. She is a Certified Fitness instructor and Personal Trainer and teaches fitness classes full-time.

She has an extensive background as a Business Analyst and has worked with companies such as Hewlett-Packard and Cox Media Business. She attended Middle Georgia University and her background includes project management of medium to large corporate business accounts.

Rosa is an active participant and volunteers for Healthier Boynton on the Advocacy subcommittee, serving as Chair. Healthier Boynton focuses on programs and assistance for caregivers. As well as, she is a member of the Steering Committee for Healthier Boynton.

She is an ongoing Mentor for the Circles program through St. John Missionary Baptist Church, which is a mentoring program, that coaches and encourages young ladies, to set goals and pursue their dreams.

She is also very active at her church (Lake Ida Church of Christ), serving as the Point of Contact for the New Convert Committee and a member of the Prayer team.

Brandi Roland

Brandi Roland is a Receptionist at Kayne Anderson Real Estate

In Boca Raton, FL.

Brandi is a mother of 3 children, who is in pursuant of a college

degree in Social Work. She has experience in working with

children as young as the age of 4yrs. old, which started during

high school when she would volunteer at multiple daycare centers.

Her affiliations with the Palm Beach County School Board Policy

Committee has broadened her knowledge and practices on the

magnitudes of child development. She has served two years on the

committee working hand and hand with the VPK Head-start program

and Kindergarten students.

As a member of Golden Parents, Inc.,

she takes a vision and makes it reality through strategic planning.

She sees various aspects of opportunity within the organization

and combines them into a whole. Ms. Roland is an inspirational

leader to both the adults and youth of Golden Parents.

She is dedicated to sharing personal testimonies of her own life in to inspire positive

actions to others by challenging them to extend their thought and choice

process. In result, would allow them to make more cautious decisions

leading them into the direction of healthier lifestyles.

Eleanor Jones

Eleanor Jones earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Bethune-Cookman College; now known as Bethune-Cookman University.

She is a 40-year veteran Social Worker. Her career was dedicated to Case Management Services with Palm Beach County Community Services under the Department of Human

Services where the Homeless population was a significant focus.

Advocacy on behalf of indigent families while assisting them with securing and maintaining a self-sufficient lifestyle was her daily mission.

Ms. Jones is driven, caring, and active in her community. She is committed to tasks put before her. As a dedicated community servant, she has offered many volunteer hours with The Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County and The Palm Beach County School System.

She proudly holds an active membership with The National Coalition of 100 Black Women

South Palm Beach County Chapter (NCBW).

Dr. Maria Thomas

MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, DNP

Nurse Educator-Single Mother

Teen Mentor-Adult Mentor

A Native Floridian born and raised, having a nurturing personality became second nature to her even as a child. She grew up always caring for others.

She is currently completing her degree as a doctor in Nursing Practice, with over over 20 years of experience caring for diverse populations.

Ms. Thomas is a dedicated, caring, and self-directed Nurse Practitioner with the objective to provide patient-centered care with a focus on the organization’s goals and mission. She possesses strong technical and universal skills applicable to nursing practice, education, and research.

Recognized ability to work independently and exercise autonomous judgment while handling stressful workloads. She has also volunteered with K&T Teens of tomorrow and Golden Parents,

Incorporated.

She has an innate desire to give these children opportunities and experiences by way of dedicating her time to these organizations.
