Upper Cutz Barbershop & Salon hosts a collection of intimate conversations called "Cutz and Conversation." This monthly discussion is designed to be a safe place for people to discuss their personal thoughts and struggles surrounding mental health. The idea came about from Upper Cutz Barbershop & Salon founder Lisa McMiller when she noticed her husband’s barbershop often felt more like a therapist’s office than a salon. After hearing so many different stories and perspectives in the barbershop and salon, most of them involved mental health topics she came up with the idea for Cutz & Conversation.
In 2018, the first Cutz and Conversation meeting was held with clients and members of the community, who engaged in a conversation discussing personal struggles around mental health in a supportive group setting, facilitated by licensed therapists. Every month there are new special guests and facilitators.
Our Men's Edition of Cutz & Conversation is held every last Monday of each month from 6 PM to 8 PM.
Our general Cutz & Conversation is held every last Thursday of each month from 6 PM to 8 PM and is open to everyone.
These events are FREE and are located at Uppercutz Barbershop and Salon in Delray Beach, you can attend in person or join the discussion virtually. Due to Covid-19, the necessary safety precautions and social distancing is enforced.
